Team for Chelsea
------------------Adrian

Antonio---Reid---Ogbonna----Byram

-----------Kouyate-----Noble(c)

Ferghouli-------Ayew--------Payet

-------------------Carroll

There may be a fitness question for oggie, so it wouldn't shock me to see Oxford there (I'd think same issue for ginge). Payet may have fitness issues as well but I cannot see leaving him on the bench. I don't see Arthur M. dropping straight into the prem, chelsea away, without even a week of training.

Please Antonio not at RB.
Not too worried who else he picks, but perhaps Carroll used as impact sub.

Re: Team for Chelsea
It's not my choice either, Hearney, but I get the impression we will see a lot of Antonio at RB this season. There is, of course, another reason for that now - it's not just that Slav is convinced that he can mould Antonio into a good RB. Now that we have Feghouli, an out-and-out right winger who looks a very decent player, it makes it much harder for Slav to play Antonio there, but because Antonio was such a big hit last season, he doesn't want to drop him, so a way around that is to play him at RB. It's a bit tough on Byram, who has been looking good, but hey, that's football. Competition for places is a good problem to have.

I think Hearney has it spot on there.

Re: Team for Chelsea
It's tough on Antonio, I can see why people are gutted for him, but I think it's clear Bilic fancies other players ahead of him.

I can't ever remember a time where we are replacing players who've done well, with even better players. Great problems to have!

Re: Team for Chelsea
I think if Byram played Right Back, with Antonio on the right wing, that could help provide the support on Hazard.

Still Trust Slav to pick the right team, but we could of had easy games to open with....having said that we said the same of Arsenal last season.

Re: Team for Chelsea
Not my choice but think Slav will opt for:

Adrian
Antonio Reid Ogbonna Masuaku
Noble Nordtveit Kouyate
Feghouli Ayew
Carroll

Keep it tight and make the most of the chances we create. If we need to push for an equalizer, he can bring on Payet, Tore Valencia etc etc

Very nice to have options.

I'm sure you were saying the same about Antonio this time last year.

Give him a chance ffs

Let's see after 25 games or so. See if we get the same kind of return out of Feghouli as we did from Antonio in his premier league debut season.

I dont think Feghouli has a goal every 3 games in him where Antonio has. Antonio was producing striker goalscoring form from right midfield and now we play him right back.

Sorry but just does not make sense to me.

Re: Team for Chelsea
I reckon Feghouli is a better player than Antonio. So I don't agree.

Better control, better delivery. I reckon he's going to be one of our best players this season too.

I just don't think people have seen enough of him.

Re: Team for Chelsea
I just hope Bilic doesn't play Antonio at RB tonight... I can see him being played there a lot this season, but tonight is not the right fixture for it... Hazard could run riot and destroy his confidence.

I'm sure Feghouli will be our main RW but I would save him for the EL match on Thursday (as he obviously has loads of European experience) and play Antonio at RW tonight.

dealcanvey - I totally agree with you and I would imagine just about everyone on here agrees with you, but it looks as if Slav is going to persist with this Antonio at RB bollocks.

I agree. I just hope we have not seen the last of Antonio at right wing as he is a real threat.

People are dropping Feghouli not because they dont think he is good enough but because they know that Antonio will give us more there.

Antonio scored eight goals in 25 prem games last season and some of them he played right back!

I cant see us getting the same kind of return out of Feghouli.

If I had it my way Antonio would be playing higher up the pitch that right back.

I am not saying Feghouli is not all that. or Antonio is a poor right back. But Antonio will bring more to the plate than Feghouli at right wing.

Re: Team for Chelsea
I dont think we will see Bryam start today. Bilic will have one eye on Thursday and as Arthur cant play against Astra I think he will save Bryam for them.

What I would pick:

----------------Adrian------------------------
--Byram--Reid--Ogbonna--Arthur--
----------------Nordveit--------------------
---------Kouyate-------Noble----------
Antonio--------------------------Ayew--
------------------Carroll-----------------

What I think Bilic will actually pick:

----------------Adrian------------------------
--Antonio--Reid--Ogbonna--Byram--
----------------Nordveit--------------------
---------Kouyate-------Noble----------
Feghouli--------------------------Ayew--
------------------Carroll-----------------
